What is so 'great' about Great Skin by Kim?
I love what I do. I have experienced skin problems most of my life. Great professional products and quality mineral makeup have improved my self-confidence immensely. I also suffer from chronic pain issues and migraine headaches. There have been times where a massage or facial was the highlight of my week. I feel this gives me a natural instinct for understanding your skin care concerns as well as a soothing touch to ease tension. I really want to share this with others and help improve your life the way my experiences have helped me.
I believe in my products and services. I'm offering exactly what I chose for myself - I'm not being dictated by a day spa chain or doctor's office. I'm not interested in selling you something just to make a commission and never seeing you again. I believe in developing a relationship with my clients so I can provide continual adjustments to treatments and products. I feel that we have to adapt to the constant changes we experience with our skin through the seasons of the year and seasons of our lives. Also, I offer a limited number of services because I prefer to keep my menu simple. I want to do the basics and do them well.
I am very qualified. I have over 150 hours of continuing education in the five years I have been doing skin care, despite my state license requiring less than 30. I have close to 30 hours of education on PCA Skin treatments and products alone. I want to be as educated as I can be to provide you with the best service. I also want to share information with you so you can feel confident in your skin care decisions. View my continuing education
I have a broad schedule. I schedule by appointment every day of the week so you can get the time you need. I am not constrained by set service times or spa demands to fit more clients into the day so I can devote the amount I determine is needed for you.
About Me
I am a Licensed Managing Esthetician and Manicurist, and a Licensed Medical Massage Therapist. I graduated from the University of Dayton in 2002 before completing the Spa-Esthiology program at the Aveda Fredric's Institute in 2006 and later graduating from SHI Integrative Medical Massage School in 2015.
I spent two years working as a skin care specialist and nail technician in a day spa and two years in a medical spa before starting Great Skin by Kim at My Pilates Studio in 2010. I have significant continuing education in relaxation and corrective skin care techniques and I specialize in superficial chemical peels. In addition to traditional Swedish massage, I have advanced certification in Muscle Energy Technique, Craniosacral Therapy, TMJ Dysfunction, and Essential Oils. I carry PCA Skin products and Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup, and I am a distributor for Young Living Essential Oils.
I make it my goal to continually advance my education and improve my technique so I may offer personalized attention to every client. I pride myself on providing professional and quality services, approaching each client with treatments and therapies that are tailored according to their individual needs and desires.
